Narrative: Today was the last day in the GreenHab, I am sad to say goodbye to this place and to my plants! I took the last measurements and pictures of them, cleaned, and tidy the GreenHab and threw away what needed to. It was very hot, again I let the door open. Only the crops that were in potting soil grew in the Greenhab (contrary to the ones in the Science Dome and in the Grow Tent), as it was very hot and with 10 mL I gave to every one of them, the water quickly evaporated in the GreenHab and wasn’t available to the plants.

I had a wonderful experience during this simulation, and I will forever remember the scent, heat and ambiance of the GreenHab !

Thank you CapCom for your support during these two weeks, martian salutations !

Narrative: I stayed and worked all day in the GreenHab today with some music. I let the door open to get some fresh air, so it was very breathable and less hot. I checked the parameters and measured my plants as always. Everything is going fine, nothing to indicate!

Greenhab Report – April 2nd

Water in Blue Tank (full – not used) gallons
Time(s) of watering for crops: N/A

Narrative: Today I went to the GreenHab only in the afternoon. My little plants seem to suffer from the intense heat, the substrates are very dry every morning and the germination rate of the seeds is lower than the ones I put in the Science Dome.

But I still like it and it’s pleasant to stay there, it’s a little bubble, a place dedicated to plants, even if it is “closed” and there are no crops, it still has a nice atmosphere and calm ambience. As usual, I took the environmental parameters, at 5 PM, it was still 101,7°F ! The humidity is about 10%.

Narrative: I have used the GreenHab and its tools to prepare my little seeding pots for my own experiment. Only 30 will stay in the GreenHab during our mission, others (60) will be placed in different places of the station. The pots are independent of the installations in the GreenHab, that I will leave like this, to respect the official closure of it.
During midday when the temperature hit 80F and more, I turned on the fan. Sometimes I opened the door, when closing the fan, to keep a good temperature of the environment.
Tonight marks the beginning of my experiment, I will then turn on the GreenHab lights during the night hours.
Harvest: N/A
Support/supplies needed:
1) I don’t know if I need to use the water of the bluer water tank, due to the official closure of the GreenHab ? For this night I will use our own water but let me know which one I have to use for tomorrow.
2) Can you tell me what is the sunset and sunrise hour so I can calibrate the timer?
