Changes to crops: All plants look healthy. Chard is ready to harvest. Basil is still blooming. Tomatoes in the black pots start to bloom. The area that was occupied by carrots now is empty for any other crop (Recommendation: herbs, tomato or any other with aerial growth/fructification. Tubers tends grows abnormally small due to the lack of space for dig).

Narrative: The GreenHab door had to been closed at 15:00 due to the rain and wind. Plants were watered two times with half of the usual volume because the substrate remains moisture longer thanks to the cold weather.

Harvested: 5g Sage + 59g Basil

Changes to crops: All plants look healthy. Chard is ready to harvest. Basil is still blooming. Tomato in the blue tray is getting yellow in some leaves, might be hydric stress.

Narrative: Plants were watered just one time due to the weather that is cold and the pots/trays still with enough moisture.

Changes to crops: All plants look healthy, except for the tomato (located in the big blue tray) that looks very stressed, but despite this, it is blooming and has +20 flowers already open.

Narrative: Nothing harvested today. Plants were watered two times. The fan has been turned on by two hours (from 14:00 to 16:00). 4 gallons of water from the Blue Tank were taken for washing and cleaning glass material of the ScienceDome.

Narrative:

Dr. Shannon Rupert watered and planted tomatoes, bean, and mint by the morning. Nothing has harvested today. Plants that were dry were re-watered by the evening.

Environmental control: Ambient with door open from 07:00 to 14:00 + fan turned on in minimum (1) from 11:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 16:30 (3.5 h)

Daily water usage for crops: 5 gallons + 2 gallons

Changes to crops: All plants look healthy. Chard and +20 Carrots ready to harvest. Basil is blooming.

Narrative: Plants were watered two times. It was necessary to close the GreenHab door because of the strong wind. The fan has been turned on (at minimum level) when the GreenHab reached almost 40°C.

Due to the Indoor thermometer of the GreenHab seems to being uncalibrated, an observational experiment was performed during the day: the information of 5 different indoor thermometers were recollected every hour. Then, the average temperature of every hour was calculated. Tomorrow another run of the experiment will be performed.

Changes to crops: All plants look healthy, except for the Sage that is getting some yellow and brown leaves. Radish was harvested. Tomato plants seem to need more water.

Narrative: Crew 211 is leaving MDRS, Crew 212 is taking over. The Blue Tank Water was refilled today. Radish, Carrots, Basil, Oregano and Parsley were harvested for dinner.

Harvest: 41.7g Radish + 105g Carrots + 3g Basil + 1g Oregano + 1g Parsley

Narrative: We have harvested tomatoes and lettuce leafs for the dinner.

Changes to crops: All plants look healthy. The tomato plant of the GreenHab and some basils seem a little stressed. The are more flowers on the tomato plant.

Narrative: It was also cooler today. We have harvested Basil and Radish.

Support/supplies needed: I won’t have enough water for 1 week long, as it was really hot this past week, and I had to water plants accordingly.

Changes to crops: All plants look healthy. Nevertheless the tomato plant of the GreenHab still seems a little stressed (curved leaf), I will water it accordingly over the next couple of days.

Narrative: It was also cooler today, the rain and the wind have helped to decrease the temperature. We have harvested Basil and Tomatoes (from plants brought by our crew) for the dinner.

Harvest: 13.8g Basil + 105g Tomatoes (from plants brought by our crew)

Support/supplies needed: I won’t have enough water for 1 week long, as it was really hot this past week, and I had to water plants accordingly.
