Summary of internet: Nominal
Summary of suits and radios: The radios worked fine for today’s EVA. Suit #6 fan started running extremely low (in the airlock) after returning from the EVA. Our EVA duration was 2.5 hours. The voltage before EVA was 13.12 V and post EVA it was 9.15V. The fan running low might be due to the low voltage. I remember Crew 291 Engineer performed a 1-hour fan run test to see if the battery was faulty for a similar situation. Do I have permission to run that test on Suit #6? Need Advice.
Summary of GreenHab operations: put notes here
WATER USE: 8.6 gallons

Summary of Science Dome operations: Daniel used the Science Dome after sending the EVA team out, starting a non-targeted PCR run of extracted DNA from samples collected on EVA 4 on Sol 4. Towards the end of the run, he prepared an electrophoresis gel to visualize the results of the PCR and found DNA from soil that was collected from underneath a rock. An image was taken and annotated, further PCR’s will be performed to identify this DNA and investigate the presence of a range of biogeochemical genes. Annalea used it for her drawings on concretions.

WATER USE: 30.36 gallons
Water (static tank): 310.72 gallons
Static tank pipe heater (on or off): On
Static tank heater (On or off): On
Toilet tank emptied: Yes
Summary of internet: Nominal
Summary of suits and radios: Nominal. Suits and radios worked fine for the EVA #008.
-Regarding Suit#6: I have ran four set of tests.
1) Case a: 20 min run at max fans
0 min 12.71 V
20 min 12:18 V
40 min 6.92 V
60 min 4.13 V
80 min 3.16V

2) Case b: 3 min run at max fans
0 min 13.89 V
3 min 12:97 V
6 min 10.57 V
9 min 6.04 V
12 min 5.12 V

The fans started to slow down super quick after hitting 10 V and the rate of voltage reduction was quite fast from 10V to 5.3V. This was followed by a reduction in the rate of voltage decrease (e.g. approx. 0.5 V per second)
3) Case c: 20 min run at min fans
0 min 13.13 V
20 min 8.95 V
40 min 8.55 V
60 min 7.73 V
I think the battery needs to be replaced as it cannot last long while the fans are at max speed. Need your advice.
Summary of GreenHab operations: put notes here
WATER USE: 7.2 gallons
Heater: On
Supplemental light: 22:00 – 02:00
Harvest: None
Summary of ScienceDome operations: In the morning Daniel successfully carried out a PCR and gel electrophoresis to identify the microbes found in the DNA from the soil reported yesterday, results are yet to be analyzed. In the afternoon another PCR targeting biogeochemical cycling genes was carried out on the same DNA, currently waiting for the gel to finish running. DNA extractions took place concurrently on soil gathered in today’s EVA.

Summary of suits and radios:
EVA# 3 crew intended to use Space suits #2, #3, #4, and #6 but ended up using #1, #2, #4, and #6 due to less charge on #3 (5.7V). We figured it was due to the fan being kept ON at low mode after use last time which was consuming the battery. I have made a note of this and will make sure to check for the suits post-EVA and make sure such a mistake does not happen in the future.
No issues with the radios used for EVA #3.

Questions, concerns and requests to Mission Support:
EVA #003 crew exited through the engineering airlock as the main airlock had malfunctioned while opening it. The main airlock was tightly closed due to the windy conditions observed the day before which led to the harness hook being stuck on the inner door handle. The crew tried opening it but it did not open in time and hence the EVA crew had to use the engineering airlock to exit the Hab. The Hab crew had to cut the harness (running through the inner door) because the crew couldn’t open it at all and the main airlock access is needed for the EVAs in the future.
After returning from the EVA, I accessed the situation and thought of two options to address it but I would need your advice on it:
– Harness going around both the outer door handles, pulling in through the inner door, and securing using the hammer as the length of the harness is not enough for the harness hook to lock on the inner door handle (as shown in the pictures attached) OR
– Change the harness to a new one and have a sufficient length for the harness so that the harness hook locks on the handle as before.

– All Hab doors are secured properly as per the weather forecast from Mission Support.
– Checked for tennis balls on the fence and zip ties on tarps for tarp safety:
HAB to RAM:
· 2 zip ties missing due to the torn holes used for zip ties. Was thinking of making another hole a little further from that location and securing it using a zip tie.
· The bottom tarp of the overlapping tarp section needs to be secured (I would recommend at least three points). Need advice from Mission Support
· A small hole was detected in the tarp. Is any action required? Does the mission support want me to put a tape on it?
HAB to Green Hab:
· 2 locations were found that need to be secured using zip ties. Will use the zip ties to secure them.
· A small hole was detected in the tarp near Green Hab. Is any action required?
